Randall's Story
After graduation, worked for my father Mitchell Oil Co. two truck stops and wrecker service, became certified EMT 1975, supervised Butler County Rescue Squad. After Mitchell Oil Co. closed 1985, worked for Butler County EMS as EMT while went to nursing school BCCC, graduated 1988. Worked for St. Francis Medical Center in the Emergency Department (ED), St. Joseph Med Center ED and Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital ED.
Married Louise King for short period of time, divorced. Married Robyn Kufner dispatcher at Butler County Sheriff Office in 1982, now after 27 wonderful years we have three daughters, Randi paramedic working Daytona Beach area for EVAC EMS, RaDonna RN working in Palm Coast as ED nurse and Rachel still in college.
After my father passed away in 1989, moved to Gainesville Florida where I worked at Shands Hospital in the ED, for ShandsCair as flight nurse and then as evening assistant nurse manager in the ED. In 1992 moved to Ft. Lauderdale Florida where worked in two hospitals as shift manager in the ED, Hollywood Memorial, Hollywood Florida, and Holy Cross Ft. Lauderdale. In 1998 moved back to El Dorado as the Director of Emergency Services Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. While in nursing school I joined the Navy Reserve as a corpsman. Then after graduating I changed over to the Army Reserve as a nurse 2nd Lieutenant just before we moved to Florida. I spent the next 9 years with the 301st Field Hospital and then the 345th Combat Support Hospital. When I moved back to Kansas joined the 4204th US Army Hospital in Topeka. They were aligned with Germany and had 7 summer ATs to Germany and was deployed to Wurzburg Germany in 2002 for 8 months. I was assigned back to the 345th Combat Support Hospital in Jacksonville Florida when I returned to Florida in 2005. I was deployed to Iraq April 2008 as the Head Nurse of the EMT (emergency dept.) at Al Asad Airbase, moved to Mosul for the last 10 weeks of the deployment. I was extended with the 47th Combat Support Hospital and am now in COB Speicher as the evening/night supervisor for the hospital. I have about 4 months left before coming home and going back to work at Florida Hospital. I am now a Major hopefully will be promoted to Lieutenant Colonel soon.
My interests are firearms and shooting, hanging out at the beach, and computers.
